Lower high (LH)

A swing high whose price is below the preceding comparable swing high.

Lower highs are used with other swing observations to describe falling or compressing structure. The comparison should use peaks selected by the same swing rule and timeframe.

If successive selected peaks occur at 103 and 100, the second is a lower high relative to the first.

One lower high is not proof of a downtrend and can also occur inside a range.
