How it works: units = lots x 100,000 for standard lots, x 10,000 for mini, x 1,000 for micro
A standard lot is 100,000 units of the base currency. A mini lot is 10,000, and a micro lot is 1,000. A platform showing 0.01 is a micro lot by another name, which is why the same size is written three different ways depending on where you read it.

Some brokers offer sizes below a micro lot. If yours does, the arithmetic is the same and the decimal just goes further.

What is 0.01 lots in units?
1,000 units of the base currency, which is one micro lot. On a pair quoted in US dollars that is 0.10 US dollars per pip.
Is a lot the same on gold or an index?
No. Contract sizes on metals, indices and crypto are set by the broker and are usually nothing like 100,000. Check the contract specification on your platform.
